My name is Miranda Jones; born and raised in the Midwest. I am a Graphic Design student in Kansas City, Missouri. I always knew from the start what I wanted to be when I grew up...an artist. Although I was never too sure of what direction I wanted to head in on my journey to becoming just that. I find more and more each day that the pieces are coming together and will eventually land where they should. Growing up, my parents were always supportive and encouraged my interest in art; beginning with my first coloring book and box of crayons. I was pretty good about staying in the lines too. Art has been my passion my whole life. I enrolled into the Metropolitan Community Colleges in the fall of 2005 and am still on the path to receiving my two year degree. Having to work full-time has made it a long process, but I am beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. In my (long) career as a student I have created logos, product packaging, editorial layouts, business cards, company stationary, flyers, posters, and have just scratched the surface in web design. I have experience working with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver. I have created several logos for established companies and organizations including KR Lamming Electric, The PhoenixProject and The Pursuit Foundation. In addition to studying Graphic Design, I have also studied drawing, painting and enjoy working with a variety of media. To bring my design skills to a higher level, I am also working on receiving my work certificate in Digital Pre-Press. I continue to master my skills as an artist with each passing day. I am very motivated and am blessed to have found my way and what makes me happy. For the moment, I am focusing on my school work and developing my skills with freelance work. Each day and each project is a learning experience and helps to develop my skills and lay ground in which will lead me to my career as a designer.
