Architects define the physical details of commercial and residential construction projects. They create the drawings and/or blueprints that determine the exact materials, sizes and specifications of a new building or home addition. An architect will determine the structural requirements needed for the construction. Most architects will work with your building contractor. Some architects charge per project, some per hour.
